We live in a bioregion (Pyrénées Orientales) which also maps to a Département, yet the locals like to think of themselves mainly as Catalans, and look to Barcelona for their inspiration. As Earthworldians, we’re proud to be part of both of these ethnobiosocio assemblages, given the sustainability of local agriculture and business. Our planetary footprint is a tenth of most large US cities! Yet we’re still plugged into the global economy, fwiw.
