Collision of Worlds- The Life of Lance- Part One

Lancelot (or “Lance” to his friends), lived at a moment in time where many worlds intersected. That point of intersection saw both fission and fusion of worlds and lives. Often. Sometimes several times a day, and on really special days, everywhere, all at once.

If it was fission, then the multiple colliding worlds disappeared in a giant mushroom cloud of dissipating energy, as the interactions went supercritical, and an unpredictable chain reaction of events presented themselves simultaneously, often calamitously. If it was fusion, then a startling new synthesis of beings, events, and worldviews emerged from the edge of the chaos of his life, and he found himself in the sweet quiet spot in the eye of those intersecting hurricanes, for a time to experience inner peace, until the next raging storm blew in.

When the Greeks invented drama, tragedy, and comedy, little did they know how soon these forms would morph into ironic, bitterly sarcastic, and deeply absurd scenarios in which Lance and many others like him, would be forced to develop an entirely new sense of humor that embraced the paradoxes and contradictions of the time.

Some called it a complexity catastrophe. Others, more inclined to pessimism and hopelessness, preferred naming it the collapse of civilization as we know it, which suited their small…
