This is part one of a two part series triggered by the hasty withdrawal of American and allied forces from Afghanistan as the Taliban took control of the country this week after a 20 year failed attempt at “nation-building” by western powers. Here we diagnose the current situation created by the dreaded global drama triangle which is causing the failure of modernism, post-modernism and the resurgence of tribalistic, authoritarian regimes around the world. This failure is also driving humanity and 90% of all life on our planet to the brink of extinction. This set of assumptions, narratives and systems is often called “Game A”.

We’re all “in over our heads” as we try to understand the hyper-complexity of what is currently unfolding around us. We need to get to the simplicity the other side of complexity if we are to stand a chance of moving from Game A to Game B. That is exactly what this two-part article attempts to do, in the plainest language possible without insulting the reader.

In part two, we examine the emergence of a new set of assumptions, narratives and systems that creates a global empowerment dynamic that replaces the dreaded global drama triangle and renders most of Game A obsolete eventually.

We’re also running calls on Clubhouse in the Global Change Agent room Monday 23 and 30 August, where we will dig more deeply into the diagnosis and prognosis of what ails us globally. You’re welcome to join us here.
